I found out on Friday that Gogol Bordello are playing a gig at the Metro in early April, just in time for the school holidays. I discovered this band after seeing the film Everything is Illuminated and found out that the lead singer, Eugene Hutz, played one of the (amusing and English-mangling) main characters in the film. His band is also responsible for the song that plays over the closing credits, Start Wearing Purple which is very funny. Their music is Ukrainian gypsy punk, very energetic and hilarious and they are supposed to be fantastic to see live. I'm intending to go for sure, no matter what the price is... they should be great. I also like the song Mussolini vs Stalin which has lyrics like this:
Mussolini was a-shavin', whistling Tarantella
Stalin was a-keeping eye on barbecue
Til their fish line bell started to jingle
Mussolini caught another, Stalin caught two
