After writing my post about electronica last week, more artists came to mind. How could I have forgotten...
Orbital
I bought their album Work a few years ago for one song, Frenetic which is amazing. It's a combination of two different vocal parts, switching about a minute into the track. I also love the song Illuminate which features David Gray on vocals, plus Nothing Left, another great little song.
Supreme Beings of Leisure
I have a couple of their songs downloaded, Never the Same and Strangelove Addiction which were played quite often on Triple J back in about 2000. I haven't heard much out of them since, though.
Mint Royale
Not strictly electronica, but an odd mix of this plus rock and pop and hip hop. Two songs I like particularly are Don't Falter and Show Me which has a great backing vocal section behind the chorus part.
Mylo
Apparently the album isn't that great but there are a few stand out tracks like In My Arms and Drop the Pressure. I had In My Arms stuck in my head on the flight from Singapore to Frankfurt back in 2004. After eleven hours it became a bit boring.
