Well I got your message as I was leaving home

Thought I'd write today about a couple of new CDs. I made it to JB yesterday at last and bought the Cops album Drop It In Their Laps which is, after two listens, as good as I was hoping. It's a mixture of rock and pop, sounds quite 80s at times and is really addictive too. Best songs include the single Call Me Anytime, the Matchbox 20-ish The Message and the Cure-like beats of Hot Weapon. I'm sure it'll get another ten listens or so during the next few days.

I also bought the Infadels album We Are Not the Infadels. I stumbled upon this band after seeing the video clip for Can't Get Enough on Rage which was apparently made in Australia. The first two tracks are the ones I already knew, Love Like Semtex and Can't Get Enough, but there are a few more great ones I noticed while putting it onto my laptop. More commentary later.

Finally, I've been developing a slight obsession over Tracey Thorn for the past few days. Out of the Woods is a fantastic album and I'm sure it'll be in my top ten list at the end of the year, or top five depending on how my CD purchases go for the rest of the year. I love the songs Easy, Get Around to It and the single It's All True but the whole album is pretty solid. It's quite dark at times but very addictive.
