JB HiFi Vouchers and other sources of eternal happiness

I just spent my voucher. I also just had a guitar lesson, which was pretty cool... I learned three chords, plus how to tune my guitar, and in theory I can play a blues song in A, D and E. Anyway, more on the guitar stuff later.

I ended up not buying the Yeah Yeah Yeahs because an awesome (and obviously psychic) friend of mine burnt me their two albums, plus a whole pile of other stuff which I haven't listened to yet. So instead I bought the Cowboy Junkies The Trinity Session and Gotye Like Drawing Blood to which I am now listening. It's pretty bloody good so far (on track three at the moment, track one being an intro which sounds like a cymbal vibrating). I like Hearts A Mess more with each subsequent listen. It's very atmospheric and has this raw sort of edge to it. Very emotional (not in an emo sort of way though).

Also listening to the Scissor Sisters again. I wish they had played Return to Oz (they did refer to it during the show, so I had hoped they might play it, being in 'Oz'). Otherwise can't complain. I still can't figure out the chorus of I Don't Feel Like Dancin' properly, but give me time to study the liner notes.

I don't feel like dancing when the old Joanna plays. My heart could take a chance, but my two feet can't find a way. You think that i could muster up a little soft shoe gentle sway. But I don't feel like dancing, no sir no dancing today. Don't feel like dancing, dancing even if i had nothing better to do. Don't feel like dancing, dancing, why'd you pick a tune when im not in the mood? Don't feel like dancing, dancing i'd rather be home with the one in the bed till dawn with you.

'Blue Moon, Song for Elvis' is one of my all time favourite songs. 'Misguided Angel' has a heavenly moment in it and was recorded the very first time they all got together to play it - in the Trinity chapel, I think, hence the title. Their cover of 'Sweet Jane' is awesome, 'Sun Comes Up'... ah, suffice to say, great, great album.

Thanks Sarah. And Kat... I've listened to a bit of 'The Trinity Session' so far and it's great. I do like 'Sweet Jane', also the opener...
