I know it wasn't New York where I lost my mind

Feeling a lot better today although still not 100%. Four days of rest and reading Harry Potter seems to have helped... trying to get my appetite back. Anyway, I feel a bit more inspired now to blog, since I'm not preoccupied with nausea and a fever and I don't get a blinding headache when I look at bright things that feels as though someone is trying to prod at my eyeballs with a stick. Certain unsympathetic family members seem to believe I have been putting it on for a bit of sympathy but I would rather not have spent four days of school holidays feeling like crap. Anyway, we'll leave that there.

The idea for this blog entry came from the realisation that there are many songs with the same title and when you search by name on an iPod this can cause confusion. Initially it was going to be about songs with such titles but since I haven't opened my laptop for a week I thought I'd leave that for now and instead focus on songs with one particular word in the title, New York. I'm not going to give any kind of analysis, merely a list... and I know there are heaps more! Maybe I'll do another list of place songs later, as well as the list of songs with the same title by different artists.

1. New York, New York- Ryan Adams
2. New York- Eskimo Joe
3. Leaving New York- REM
4. NYC- Interpol
5. New York- U2
6. In a New York Minute- Don Henley

I have to add as a post script that the only reason that last song is here is due to its appearance in an episode of The West Wing.

You forgot one of the most classic - Frank Sinatra's "New York, New York". I know he's not as hip and cool as the others...

Thanks Bec... I also forgot these:

What New York Couples Fight About (Morcheeba), The Only Living Boy in New York (Simon and Garfunkel) and NY (The Doves), all great.
