What will happen in the morning when the world it gets so crowded that you can't look out the window in the morning?

There's another collection of lost Nick Drake material that has just been released on CD. I heard about this awhile ago but forgot, until I read Beat today and saw the review. I own his three albums Five Leaves Left, Bryter Layter and Pink Moon, plus Made to Love Magic which contains lost tracks, early recordings and other rarities. Like Jeff Buckley, someone seems determine to put every single thing they can find of his on sale. I don't think it's a money making venture. Rather, people just like his music. And I don't blame them.

It is really sad he only made three albums before his death and I did enjoy watching the documentary that was on SBS a few years ago now, about his life and music. I've also read his biography and found out he was a pretty insular person. He hated performing live and lots of people barely felt they knew him. Also, he lacked self confidence in his abilities. And his abilities were pretty extraordinary. He played guitar using tuning methods no one's quite been able to work out since. He played to really complicated rhythms, could pull off a simple solo guitar number or play as part of a complicated orchestral arrangement with equal skill. I think I'll probably buy Family Tree soon, out of curiosity. I just find the 'need to release everything dead musicians have made' obsession a little overwhelming sometimes.
