Songs About Cars

For someone who doesn't have a driver's licence or own a car, this might be a slightly strange choice of blog entry. But I'm lacking inspiration this week and it was on my standby list. I'm tired... have been marking all day and desperately need a sleep.

Passenger Side, Wilco
A disqualified driver expresses annoyance at the driving skills of his girlfriend/partner. 'You're going to make me spill my beer if you don't learn how to steer'.

Airbag, Radiohead
Well, it's kind of about a car I suppose. Or more accurately it's about part of a car.

Drive My Car, The Beatles
One of the classics I originally heard on the second half of the red 'best of' album.

In the Car, The Barenaked Ladies
Not so much about a car as about stuff that happened in a car. Enough said.

Stolen Car, Beth Orton
A great opening track from Central Reservation. Actually, all of Beth Orton's opening tracks are great: Sky Cries Your Name, Worms, Paris Train...
