Animal Songs (Part 1)

Thinking about this the other day, not many songs first came to mind. However, when I started looking through my iTunes library I found plenty of songs that mention animals. Here is a selection of the best from the first half of the alphabet.

I Am the Walrus, The Beatles
The walrus in the film clip was Paul, and since walruses are apparently an omen of death some conspiracists chose to believe this meant Paul was dead. As Paul is still alive today this is obviously wrong. Also referenced in Glass Onion- 'well here's another clue for you all, the walrus was Paul'.

Birds, Ben Folds Five
A beautiful little instrumental from the Army single. Piano and strings and drums, very nice.

Sheep Go to Heaven, Cake
A hilarious track from a few years ago now. 'Sheep go to heaven, goats go to hell... as soon as you're born you start dying so you might as well have a good time'.

I Like Birds, The Eels
A cute track from Daisies of the Galaxy that has appealing instrumentation and lyrics. 'I don't look at the rocket launch, the trophy wives of the astronauts. I don't listen to their words. I like... birds.'

Sunset (Bird of Prey), Fatboy Slim
Distinctive opening vocals... repetitive, but evocative. The film clip shows a pilot in an aeroplane, if my memory serves me correctly.
