Hot Day Songs

The first 'proper' summery day today (hot enough to justify turning on the air conditioning). Too bad I had to go to work though and suffer in non-air conditioned rooms. Good music for hot days...

1. Sigur Ros... slow and dreamy, perfect background music for reading quietly while sitting in the cool lounge room with a cold drink.

2. 78 Saab, Sunshine. The Triple J summer song in 1999. Suits the mood of hot, lazy days.

3. Cowboy Junkies, The Trinity Session. More quiet tracks with amazing instrumentation and beautiful singing to accompany them. A highlight is definitely Sweet Jane.

4. David Bridie, Act of Free Choice. A lot more low-key than My Friend the Chocolate Cake (and more electronicky). Lots of slow, floaty numbers.

5. Enya, Watermark. There's always a time and place for Enya and summer's pretty much ideal.
