Carol Brown took a bus out of town...

This season of Flight of the Conchords has just been released on DVD and its showing on SBS is drawing to a close too. Although no album has yet been released, there have been plenty of great songs in this season as well. One episode, where Jemaine attempts to pursue a relationship with an Australian girl, is particularly funny and features two of the best songs in the current series. Too Many Dicks on the Dance Floor is a cautionary tale about what can happen if you don't check the 'bro-ho ratio' before you go to a club. You might find 'Billy, Todd and Tommy... on leave from the army' when you're trying to meet chicks.

There's also one of the best Conchords songs later in the episode with Carol Brown, the history of Jemaine's love life. Every one of the fifty ways in which lovers have left him is relived, including 'Tiffany, you told me you had an epiphany' and 'Loretta, she broke my heart in a letter.' Carol Brown not only left on a bus, she organised a choir of the ex-girlfriends to taunt Jemaine about his failings, which include an ability to cook only cereal.

Apart from these gems, there's also Sugarlumps, a parody of the Black Eyed Peas song with a rhyming title. There's a hilarious dance scene featuring business men in a restaurant. Hurt Feelings shows that even rappers can get upset if people don't appreciate their casseroles. Murray's lament Rejected is belted out on the balcony of his new up-market record company office. In Stay Cool Bret, Bret and his gang, the Tough Brets, face off against enemy teenage delinquents and Australian diplomats who make rude jokes about Miss New Zealand.

I hope the album isn't too far off... at first you could get the songs on iTunes but now they're all gone.
