Worrying Trends?

Recently I am becoming convinced that music is not just an interest for me. Nor is it a strongly pursued interest. In short, I'm becoming obsessed. I realised this after the Wilco gig the other night when I decided that collecting tour posters would become my new hobby. I also found a ticket stub keepsake album at the Virgin store, which I intend to purchase so I can store my large collection of Comedy Festival tickets and gig tickets (of course the Corner Hotel and Northcote Social Club take them off you when you go in the door, so I can't collect those). There's a certain excitement that comes over me when I see a show by a particular band advertised. There are certain albums I can play again and again without tiring of them. I still get a shiver somewhere when I play Spiders and the guitar riff part kicks in. I've already seen six gigs this year and it's going to become eight by June.

I'm not sure if this development is good or bad. We shall see how it plays out. This blog is, I'm sure, contributing in some way but in the old chicken and egg argument, would the blog have been started if I did not have a strong interest in music? Let me know if I start boring you in person with talk of music. I'll try to keep it to this blog.

I think you can sometimes go back to the front counter of the Northcote or Corner and ask for a ticket to keep.
