More on the Hottest 100

Here's an article from The Age about the Hottest 100. Why though is Molly Meldrum considered the expert on Australian music? I'd think that The Age could call on its own writers such as Patrick Donovan to provide more insightful comments. And what about asking Richard Kingsmill for his view about it?
